Providing Families a Hand Up
The Emergency Housing Program serves homeless families that come to us with many complex problems such as addictions, abusive relationships and poor life skills. Housing is provided in one of Shelter Care's 14 apartments for a maximum of 120 days. Case Managers work with families to develop weekly goals in employment, education, child services and housing to ensure transition into a more stable lifestyle. SCM, in cooperation with many other community providers, offers support services to our families.
Households must be headed by an adult at least 21 years of age. Children in the household must be younger than 18 or still attending school full-time.
